The Irish Advertising Market and IAPI

IAPI currently has 60 members, made up of full service agencies, media and digital independents.

It is estimated that the Irish Advertising industry employs less than 1,000 people and therefore is a small industry. IAPI member agencies vary in size, the smaller agencies employing approx 4 while the bigger agencies can employ in to 100’s.

If there is a particular agency you would like to find more information on you can search the agency list.

A brief description of each of the IAPI agency models follows;

Traditional or Creative Agencies

Creative agencies tend to work with marketing departments in order to develop a communications strategy for a brand. A creative idea is developed in line with the brief and then is placed in various media. A creative agency must also pre and post campaign research to prove ROI and the effectiveness of the campaign for the client.

Media Agency

Media agencies oversee the planning and buying of media for a campaign. In recent years the Irish Market has seen the emergence of a number of media independents. These independent agencies handle the media buying and planning for clients. Media agencies must also provide post campaign analysis.

Digital Agencies

There are some creative agencies in the Irish market that only work on creative, others that work on media buying and planning and some that are integrated. Some digital agencies specialise in SEO. Most digital agencies in the Irish market work alongside offline agencies to develop a fully integrated campaign.
