ADFX - THE CONCEPT

The ADFX Awards was launched by The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) in 1996, to acknowledge and reward the significant contribution its memberâs advertising campaigns make to business success in Ireland. ADFX was developed by IAPI to be its flagship industry award brand. A win is based on an evaluation of advertising impact and subsequent value to the client, far beyond the aesthetic or creative, to acknowledge the complete advertising effort. As such it is considered by industry to be the ultimate Irish advertising accolade.

THE COMMITTEE

The Awards, held every two years, are run by Industry Committee, currently chaired by Jeremy Crisp of DDFH&B and managed by Aisling Conlon and Steve Shanahan of IAPI.

THE ADFX TROPHY
Ireland's ancient standing stones speak to us of a culture several millennia old. These huge shards of granite were often inscribed with a pattern of cuts and grooves known as 'Ogham', thought to be an early Celtic alphabet.

This earliest form of written communication survives as part of our heritage, and fittingly inspired the design of IAPI's award for advertising effectiveness. The trophies were cast in hot metal by sculptor Ronan Halpin and are patinated to represent the bronze, silver, gold and Grand Prix awards.
