About IAPI
What is IAPI?
IAPI is the trade association and professional institute for Irish advertising agencies. Our primary role is to promote the highest professional and creative standards in the production of advertising, across all media. IAPI plays a key role in the Irish advertising industry, which is reflected in its range of activities.
The origins of the Institute date back to 1928, when the Irish Association of Advertising Agencies was founded. The Institute replaced it in 1964 and for over 45 years has represented the interests of advertising agencies in the Ireland. IAPI is comprised of almost 60 member companies, accounting for over 95% of advertising agency expenditure in the country.
A non-profit making organisation, the Institute has a secretariat of 4 and is governed by a Board of 12 Directors. Its activities, co-coordinated by the IAPI Task Forces are wide-ranging and include negotiations with the media, trades union(s) and government, as well as lobbying at the European Commission and Parliament. The Institute is a long-serving member of the European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA).
The high standards required of members can be seen in our Byelaws and our Memorandum & Articles of the Association. Membership is corporate in nature and is limited to full service advertising agencies, media agencies, creative agencies and digital advertising agencies.
Once an agency joins IAPI, every member of staff and the agency itself has access to the services and benefits of IAPI.
